How to fix Firefox not opening?

When Firefox is not opening, there may be various reasons for the error but it could be fixed using some simple tricks.

Common Reasons for Firefox not Opening
·         Errors caused by extensions, themes or hardware acceleration.
·         Corrupted files tend to erase everything from the system completely. Since they get corrupted on their own, you can do nothing about it other than reinstalling the Firefox.
·         Add-ons installed to provide additional functionality for your browser cause Firefox to misbehave. If they have improper coding or have a bug, get rid of them immediately.
·         Drivers interfering with other applications cause these types of issues.

Start Firefox in safe mode
1.       From the menu, click on help.
2.       Select “Restart with add-ons disabled…”. Click on restart.
3.       Click on “Start in safe mode”.

Uninstall and reinstall Firefox completely
Uninstalling the current Firefox version completely and reinstalling solves the issue of Firefox, not opening. Follow the steps below:
1.       Hold Ctrl, Shift and Esc keys simultaneously and open the task manager.
2.       In the process list, look for Firefox. If there is an instance running, select Firefox and click End Task.
3.       Hold Windows key and press E.
4.       Type C:\Program Files in the address bar. Hit Enter.
5.       Go to the Mozilla Firefox folder, right-click on it and click delete.
6.       Hold the Windows key and press r.

2.       Click on “Add-ons” to activate “Add-ons manager”.
3.       Select the add-on that you want to remove in “Extensions or themes”.
4.       Select “Remove”.
5.       Click on “Restart now”.

Check your proxy settings
If other browsers are opening other than Firefox, you need to check your proxy settings.
·         Go to the Firefox menu at the top of the Firefox window and select options.
·          Click on “Advanced” and go to the network.
·         Click the “settings…” button in the connection portion of the window.
·         Select no proxy.
·         Close the connection settings window and click OK to exit.

Themes and Extensions
Themes are used to change the loom of Firefox and extensions add new features to Firefox functions. Corrupted themes or extensions restrict Firefox from opening or accessing the internet. Open Firefox in safe mode by disabling themes, extensions and hardware acceleration. If Firefox opens normally after doing this, disable all extensions and reset Firefox to the default theme.

You can also refresh Firefox by going to the menu and then help. Select Troubleshooting information and click on Refresh Firefox button.
